About Lizzy Vickery
Lizzy was born with a passion for horses. She started to take lessons when she was 4 years old under the instruction of Linda Brown. Linda emphasized strict equitation and strong horsemanship skills, which she instilled into Lizzy at a young age. Lizzy began competing in the hunter/jumper arena by the age of 10. Within a few years Lizzy was working with young horses and in that time started working for Beth Perkins in Petaluma, CA and made a complete switch to Eventing, competing through Preliminary.

At 22 she moved to Santa Cruz, CA and returned to the Jumper ring under the instruction of Dick Widger of Waterford Farms. She competed successfully at Pebble Beach, Woodside, Brookside, and Del Mar; at the Amateur Owner level and placed well in several Mini Prixs.

Lizzy started her professional career in 2003 as an assistant to Carol Wright of Melodic Farms in Elk Grove, CA. Under Carol, Lizzy improved her barn management skills, often running the 25-horse barn at home while Carol was away at shows. In March of 2006 Lizzy moved to San Francisco, CA and became an assistant to Olympic veteran Colin McIntosh and his wife, Toni. There she helped to run their 40-horse program teaching all levels of horse and rider.
